A group of four women go on a getaway to a cottage to help one of their own through a life-changing problem.
I wrote and self-published this a few years ago (available for $1.99 wherever you can buy eBooks). It’s a horror novel with a very delayed fuse. In preparing it, I wanted to spend almost an absurd amount of time with the characters without at all hinting at the misery to come. Scary things are most affecting when you care about the people they’re happening to, and few things are scarier than the unexpected. But when the scares flow, they never stop. Along with that, LIE was my first crack at a longform story with women you don’t usually see in fiction. The characters aren’t types, they’re people. They’re also fun to spend time with. There’s a lot more to say about it, but I don’t wanna ruin anything for you.
